China sees sharp fall in Nov FDI

Dec. 12, 2008 (China Knowledge)

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China last month fell 36.5% from a year earlier to US$5.32 billion, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).

In the Jan.-Nov. period, China's FDI amounted to US$86.42 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 26.3%.

The sharp fall in FDI was another sign of a faltering global economy that is causing foreign investors to keep their funds at home and the decline may continue in the near term, analysts said.
