10 companies bid for 2 port tenders with an expected investments of USD550 mln

Ten companies are competing in the tender for the liquid bulk terminal at Ain Sokhna Port and the dry bulk terminal at the Adabia Port, with expected investments of $550 million for both projects, reported Al-Mal newspaper.

The companies competing for the Ain Sokhna terminal include Sonker for Egyptian Vessels Fuelling, Hassan Allam Contractors, the Dutch group, Fobak, the British group, Vitol, Orascom Construction Industries and the Arab World Port Development Company.

The companies competing for the Adabia Port include Venus International for Shipping, Suez steel, Hassan Allam Contractors, Orascom Construction Industries and the Egyptian Co. for Services.

The Ministry of Transportation had announced an international tender for the ports early last month to operate under the BOT system.
