INDIA Jet Airways And Kenya Airways Enter Into Codeshare And Frequent Flyer Partnership

Jet Airways, India's premier international airline, has entered into a Codeshare arrangement and network-wide frequent flyer partnership with Kenya Airways, Kenya's national carrier. Effective today, these flights are open for sale, and for travel, effective July 22, 2010. The frequent flyer partnership will also become effective on July 22, 2010.

Jet Airways will place its code on Kenya Airways' daily services between Mumbai and Nairobi allowing Jet Privilege members to earn Tier Points, Tier JPMiles & Tier Bonus JPMiles for their activities when booked to fly on the 9W code of Jet Airways marketed, Kenya Airways operated codeshare flights.

In addition, effective July 22, 2010 the frequent flyer partnership will also allow the programme members of both airlines to earn and redeem miles on the entire network of the other airline.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Nikos Kardassis, CEO, Jet Airways said, "Africa is an important market for Jet Airways and in addition to our direct service to Johannesburg, there is significant demand from our customers to travel to Kenya and beyond. We are confident that this partnership will translate into greater air traffic between India and Africa. Significantly, the frequent flyer partnership with Kenyan is a mutually beneficial one, enabling Jet Privilege members to tap into Kenya Airways' impressive network across Africa while earning and redeeming frequent flyer miles. "

Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Dr. Titus Naikuni noted that the partnership between the two airlines would enable KQ customers to access more destinations to cities in India via Jet Airways. "Kenya Airways seeks to strengthen its presence in India by offering better connection options to its passengers from Africa, and our association with Jet Airways gives us an opportunity to offer our customers a seamless connection to more destinations in the Indian sub continent."
