Zambian new cabinet... soon

The Watchdog, "Zambia’s Leading Investigative & Analytical Newspaper", reports that President Rupiah Banda has said he will only form his cabinet after returning from a SADC meeting in South Africa. The SADC heads of State meeting on the Zimbabwean and recent Congolese crisis will be held next Sunday.

Mr. Banda, who will leave for South Africa on Saturday, has also disclosed that he held a cabinet meeting where he instructed ministers to resume work.

The nation is waiting anxiously to see what kind cabinet the new president will come up with as that would determine how his governance will be perceived by citizens. The Watchdog has learned that Mr. Banda may retain most of the cabinet members for the time being.

Speculation is also high on who becomes vice president as several names such as Foreign Affairs minister Kabinga Pande and Inonge Mbikusita have been mentioned prominently.
