Memorandum of Understanding Between Libya and Portugal signed

A memorandum of understanding was signed in Lisbon last night by the Gt Jamahiriya and Portugal to facilitate entry visas for the citizens of the two countries as a step towards consolidating bilateral relations and an expression of the desire by the two countries that relations be developed in all areas.

The memorandum was signed by the Secretary of Arab Affairs at the Foreign Liaison Bureau, and the Portuguese Under-secretary for Communities. The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary of the General People's Committee of Planning.

The memorandum called for quick processing of visa applications for the citizens of the two countries.. fast track of applications for delegations of companies and businessmen from both countries as well as facilitating visa for students and trainees in both countries.

It also calls for easier new measures to help diplomats' family members get diplomatic residence cards, and preferential treatment for official delegations.
