Russian Navy will continue patrolling off the Horn of Africa
The regular presence of warships belonging to the Russian Navy off the Horn of Africa will continue, said a Defense Ministry spokesman.
According to him, in December of this year a large anti-submarine ship “the Admiral Vinogradov”, a tanker "Pechenga" and a rescue tug will begin operating there to fulfill the tasks of protecting merchant shipping.
Currently on combat duty in the dangerous waters is a large war ship belonging to the Russian Navy, “Admiral Levchenko”.
Since July of this year it has escorted 13 convoys and provided security for 57 civilian ships.
