Yemen, Djibouti talk on cooperation in energy field

Minister of Electricity Awadh al-Socotri held talks here on Tuesday with Djiboutian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Moussa Bouh Odowa to discuss cooperation in electricity and energy field.

The talks dealt with the measures of the electrical connection project between Yemen and Djibouti according to the study carried out by the French consulting company (EDF) and the possibility of exchanging experiences between the two brotherly countries in field of power generation by thermal energy and winds.

On the other hand, the two ministers reviewed the executive procedures for Sana'a Forum States decrees related to electricity and energy sector.

Al-Socotri noted the importance of the electrical connection project and between Yemen and Djibouti, affirming Yemen's keenness on developing the cooperation relations with Djibouti especially in field of electricity and energy.

For his part, the Djiboutian minister voiced his ministry's readiness to start implementing all practical measures related to the electrical connection project after finalizing the project's studies.

He valued the Yemeni side cooperation and its role in enhancing and promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries.
